Google has released Gemini 2.5 Pro

Google unveils Gemini 2.5 Pro preview for developers ahead of schedule. Originally set to be announced at the Google I/O conference in May, the release of Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview was pushed forward due to strong interest from the developer community.

Gemini 2.5 Pro Preview is an enhanced version of the AI assistant, built on user feedback. It brings significant improvements in coding capabilities, especially for building interactive web applications, outperforming the previous model by 147 Elo points in the WebDev Arena ranking.

The model excels at understanding code and video (scoring 84.8% in the VideoMME test) and is already used in tools like Cursor, as well as in partnerships with Cognition and Replit.

Gemini 2.5 Pro is available through Google AI Studio and Vertex AI, with no extra steps or payments required for users of the previous version.
